The purpose of Strait Occupational & Hand Therapy is to provide a caring environment with emphasis on patient treatment and education. Our commitment to Excellence is through on-going advanced training in the application of techniques specific to hand and upper extremity injuries and return to functional daily activities.
Occupational Therapy emphasizes the teaching of independent living skills for physical and psychomotor dysfunction. A certified hand therapist has a minimum of five years of clinical experience with either a bachelor of science or a masters degree. At least 2,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy is required before taking a national comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper extremity rehabilitation.
