Wind River Synopsis: Washakie was the powerful Chief of the Shoshone, but death, which plays no favorites, took his infant son. In her mourning, his wife had a dream that was destined to change the life of 13-year-old Nick Wilson, a frontier boy of meager means. The grieving mother dreamed of the dreaded wolf who was about to destroy her other child, a little girl, but a yellow-haired boy comes out of the mist to save her only daughter. Washakie sends his braves to seek out this boy of the dream and entice him to come live with the Indians. Because of an awful fight with his older brother, Nick accepts the Shoshone's offer and works hard to fit in with his newly adopted family, but finds himself in the middle of rival and warring factions of the tribe. The mother's dream becomes reality and young Nick is forced to face his own manhood. The 1854 Wyoming historical drama is based on Tom Shell's adaptation of the true life memoirs of Pony Express rider Nick Wilson.
