The Odyssey Synopsis: Lavish TV miniseries based on Homer's 2700 year old poem relating the adventures of King Odysseus of Ithaca. On the day his son is born to faithfull wife Penelope (Scacchi), Odysseus (Assante) is command goddess Athena (Rossellini) to leave his home and travel to battle the Trojans. Little does he realize that this is the beginning of a 20-year sojourn, where additional trials include sea monsters, the Cyclops, Kingdom of the Dead, inchantress Circe (Peters), and getting shipwrecked on the island of Calypso (Williams), who wants to keep the hunk around. But Odysseus realizes there's no place like home.
