"The Skylarks" and the Snowbird Orchestra
"Fabulous 50's Review" 2005 Tour

This variety musical program features many big hits of the 50’s including early rock & roll and doo-wap classics, like “Sha-Boom,” “Earth Angel,” “At The Hop,” and “Rock Around The Clock.” Also featured will be a number of cross-over classics such as Patsy Cline’s “Crazy,” Marty Robbin’s “A White Sport Coat (And A Pink Carnation),” as well as songs by Pat Boone, Paul Anka, Peggy Lee, Kay Starr and many more.The Skylarks, a girl trio, will contribute songs from the Maguire Sisters like “Sincerely,” and “Goodnight Sweetheart,” as well as songs by the Chordettes and other vocal groups of the era.

The Skylarks are led by soprano Karen Pritchard. Karen received her Masters in Vocal Performance from Indiana University. In addition to her work with the Skylarks Karen has performed in professional and community musical theater. This season she sang in the Olympic Theater Arts production of “Side By Side By Sondheim”
Second soprano, Cathy Collins, another founding member, sings in the Skylarks as well as performing weekly as a member of the Worship Music Ensemble for Sequim Presbyterian Church.

Singing alto is Katie Page. This is Katie’s second tour. Besides singing with the Skylarks Katie is a frequently featured soloist with Stardust, a 17 piece big band, and fronts her own group Acoustic News. This fourteen member ensemble includes a 9 piece, Las Vegas style show band, plus singers and technical support. They will be spending the month of February performing at resorts though out Southern California and Arizona. This year the entire cast will be from Western Washington, most from the Olympic Peninsula. 2005 marks the 6th year of touring for the Snowbird Orchestra. Beginning in 2000 with “The Greatest Hits of WW2” the group has entertained audiences in Palm Desert, Cathedral City, Las Vegas, Desert Hot Springs, Indio, Yuma, Tucson, Casa Grande, and from Surprise to Apache Junction in the Phoenix area. In addition they perform “off season” at RV rallies in Washington State.
