Below is a FTM Descendancy Report generated, for the most part, from the in testate proceeds associated with the Will of Simon Wilson located at Heather Waddingham’s Campobello Website.  This is based upon my reading of that document – so there could be other ways to read this item, for the author is not as precise as it first appears in delineating the relationships of Simon Wilson’s brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, etc.  There is a wealth of information herein and I have created a gedcom of this file in that there are two additional generations that come down off the Tinker marriage.  E-mail me at rodfleck@olypen.com if you would like a copy of that gedcom.

68.  AGREEMENT ON SPELLING OF NAME, Per the e-mail exchange between John Skehan and myself - we have come to the conclusion that we will use this spelling of the name.  Here is the justification from John.2.  Back to the Adelaide/Adeline Estella Mitchell question.  Theplot thickens even more as a result of the information that you sentto me concerning the birth of Erma Annie Tinker.  You indicatedthat the registration of Erma's birth listed her mother as "Adelaine"Estella Mitchell.  That name seems to be a combination ofAdelaide and Adeline, although it could be merely a typo error oftyping an "n" for a "d",.        I don't have data that indicates the name of Adelaide/Adeline'sparents, but I looked through the 1871 Campobello census (shewas supposedly born in 1869) to see if I could find her family. Family # 96 of the 1871 census lists the following:                Thaddeus Mitchell       25                     Amelia                  27                Adalade                  3  (Yet another spelling!).        I suspect that this Adalade is Adelaide/Adeline EstellaMitchell, what do you think?  If so, although misspelled this seemsto agree with her gravestone that her name was Adelaide.  By theway, when I visited the "Old" Wilson's Beach Cemetery a year orso ago, I visited the Grave of Geroge and Adelaide.  My notesindicate that the gravestone says "George Tinker 1865-1947" and"Adelaide (wife) 1868-1932".  So, on the basis of all of thisinformation, I'm satisfied that her name was Adelaide, and that iswhat I am going to enter into my file. (I'll probably still make a notethat some records indicate that her name was Adeline)..

70.  John W. Skehan [Skehan@maine.edu], e-mail from john skehan, "Electronic," 2.  Your material says that George Tinker was married to AdelaideEstella Mitchell and that they had a daughter named Synthia. However, in the "1920-1925 Death Registration" material on theCampobello web site, it reports the March 1, 1923 death of Cynthia(Tinker) Sirles, wife of William Ansel Sirles, and it lists her parents'names as George Tinker and Adeline Mitchell (not Adelaide). Which is correct?  To confuse the matter even further, thegravestone in the Old Wilson's Beach cemetery says "GeorgeTinker 1865-1947 and Adelaide (wife) 1868-1932.  It would appearthat probably the death registration notice was incorrect.

81.  John W. Skehan [Skehan@maine.edu], e-mail from john skehan, "Electronic," Hi Rod, I believe, as you suggested, that Marianne, Aurelia and Aurora Tinker are all the same person for the following reasons:The ages fit perfectly.  In the 1881 census she was 7, in the 1891 she was 17, and in the 1901 census she was 27.  As I indicated earlier, Aurelia married Blan Fletcher in 1895.  The 1901 census (Part 5, family #85) lists Blan Fletcher 30, born 10/27/1871 and his wife Annie A.  27, born 8/10/1874.  It may be that her full and middle name name was Ann Aurelia or Aurelia Ann, but the age and birth date correlate with Aurelia. It appears that Miss Tinker has been listed by a number of names in the Campobello census records, and that has created the confusion.  It goes to show you that census records can be misleading.  I'm satisfied that William Tinker and Adeline Ludlow had only eight children and that Aurelia was their 7th child.Regards, John.
