This work
is actually that of a few of us (Primarily John Skehan and I) working on the
Tinker lines of Campobello Island. Who
this David Tinker relates to is a bit of a mystery still, however, I am
starting to suspect that he is the youngest child of David Tinker, brother of
William Tinker, who in 1808 files a land petition and notes in that that he is
the father of five children all born on Campobello Island. I suspect that individual below could be the
first son of that David Tinker – however that has not been proven as of
yet. Also, where things are
speculative, that has been noted.
IF there
is something wrong in the materials below, please do not hesitate to contact me

been in contact with Marilyn Strout concerning the cemeteries on Campobello
Island. I had told her of one very old cemetery that was located on "Cooks
Point", formally called "Windmill Point" on a lot of the old
maps. Last week I went there to see if any old head stones remained and found
only three. Some of the older residents here informed me that it was a fairly
large area in it's time, however it has been neglected and almost forgotten
over time. It's very grown up and difficult to access. I know of a woman here
who knows a fair amount about the cemetery and some of it's history. I am
hoping to talk to her soon.I am enclosing the information from the remaining
three stones and pictures of the same. The information on the stones is listed

in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, 8 kilometres north-west of Arras. The
village stands on high ground overlooking the battlefields of Vimy and Souchez
and the main Bethune-Arras road, and the ruined towers that rise from it were
used as an observation post during the French attacks at Neuville-St Vaast and
Givenchy in May 1915. Ecoivres is a hamlet lying at the foot of the hill, to
the south-west and about 1.5 kilometres from Mont St Eloi on the Arras-St Pol
