Private Matthew Siebert

In the History of Pennsylvania Volunteers by Bates, Vol. 2, on page 1354, my GGG Grandfather, Matthew Siebert, is listed in the Burial Records. The regiment listed is the 74^th, K Company. Date of death is 7 Jun 1862, and the he was buried at the Military Asylum Cemetery in Washington D.C. (the spelling on the records and headstone at the cemetery is Subert). The cemetery is now referred to as Soldiers Home National Cemetery. His widow, Catherine, was left to raise four children. She died in 1886 and did not receive a pension.
