Philip Laible was born in Germany and  on 9 October 1839 married Maria  Ana at Urlof in Baden.  They had two children:  Caroline Laible born in 1852 and Barbara Laible born in 1860.  Philip mustered in with Company A on the 5th of August 1861 and served as Private.  In the Battle of Cross Keys, Philip was killed and died on the 8th of June 1862.  His widow applied for a Widow’s pension in 1864.
