Relics
Many times, we can
only connect to the past with the relics left to us by those who served. Here, we plan to give viewers a glimpse into
life as a member of the Regiment by sharing the relics left to us by that
generation.
V
Discharge signed by General
George Washington – Corporal Lemuel Smith
Our first relic is
truly a rarity two times over: (1) it
bears the signature of the Commander of the Continental Army; and, (2) is for a
Corporal who saw service in the 12th whose total service was longer
than that of the Commander. Lemuel Smith
served eight years and one month at the time that this was signed.
