Documents of the Regiment

Muster Rolls

This is a scan of a part of the Muster Roll I was able to find at the National Archives in Washington D.C. on microfilm  NARA M246, Roll 38, Images 15-17 Captain Nathan Watkin’s Company’s muster for Sept. 1778; and, another was found at NARA M246, Roll 40, Image 45 – Brewer’s Regiment.

Interestingly enough, the film for this same Company’s time at Valley Forge was not on the film.  The pension applications of many of the men from this Company, however, clearly indicate that they were there at Valley Forge.

Pension Applications

The list below is of those who filed for a pension many years after the War when they were in need of financial assistance.  The following are the ones I have located via HeritageQuest’s online service.  Many local libraries allow their patron’s access to this wonderful genealogical service – that is how I found these.  The records are organized by name and state, but not by regiment.  So, if you have such a pension record, please let me know and I will obtain the Adobe® PDF file and include the name here.  To use the files one must have ADOBE Reader® which is a free download from their website.  I can send you the PDF for any of the individuals noted below:

John Blake                                  Joseph Blake
