About RFP
The Rainforest Players is a volunteer charitable community organization devoted to the arts with a focus on the performing arts. The Rainforest Players advances education about and understanding of the arts, by community participation in its activities and by producing otherwise unavailable arts events for the community.  Rainforest Players is a 501 c 3 non-profit corporation.
Schedule
RFP usually produces two major plays a year. These are produced in the fall and the spring. The spring performance is usually in conjunction with Rainfest (a community festival).  Other events such as movie nights, readings, and workshops are done periodically . Monthly business meetings are the first Thurday at the Rainforest Arts Center at 7 PM.
Membership
Rainforest Players is an inclusive organization open to all persons with a sincere desire to assist in carrying out and fulfilling the purpose .  There are no dues.  Only energy and dedication are expected.  Special talents are not required;  productions need all kinds of people to be successful.
Play Readings
The Play Reading group increases awareness of play manuscripts. Finding good plays is always an important and entertaining challenge.  Play reading creates a broader knowledge base and library for RFP and it’s fun.  Play readings are scheduled often with out monthly business meetings the first Thursday of each month.  Please check out our Rainforest Players Library List.
NEWS
2002 was our 20th anniversary year, which we celebrated with our winter production of My Three Angels by Sam and Bella Spewack, on Dec. 6, 7 and 8 at the RAC.  Historic documents from the first year are viewable here. the first production was Harvey, followed by a selection of shorts and A Bad Year for Tomatoes.  RFP languished somewhat in the years that followed but was revived with a fabulous production of Our Town in 1990.
The new Rainforest Performing Arts Series presented by Rainforest Players kicked off it’s first concert on March 9, 2002 at 8 PM with the fabulous Oregon Renaissance Band leaders, Phil and Gail Neuman and Jim Stehn in an evening Early Music. The second concert on May 10, 2002 presented a magical chamber concert of bassoon (Beatrice Kaufman), flute( Sharon Snel), and piano (Rosemary Brauninger). The third concert, October 5,2002 featured renowned classical guitarist, Andre Feriante.  We hope to resume this series in the future.
