JULY 2008

Have a sparkling July 4th and then enjoy
Sequim's 12th Lavender Festival July 18 - 20

Wednesday the 2nd, Sequim, Protection Island Cruise: Enjoy a beautiful 2 hour cruise from our own John Wayne Marina, aboard “Livin’ the Dream” with Capt. Charles Martin. See magnificent scenery from the water; look for the NW’s rare sea birds & mammals on Protection Island. Wear layers bring your cameras & binoculars. Lots of fun! Only 5 places per cruise. $60 members/ $77 non. Departs 10:00 am.

Sunday the 6th, Safeco Field, Seattle, Mariner’s Baseball: We’ll play Detroit so lets support our team. Our 1:00 pm game allows us time for lunch in the neighborhood or you might eat from one of the food stalls inside the stadium. Lots of fun so book now for this and the August game too! $58 for everybody! Departs 8:30
am.

Wednesday the 9th, Agate Pass, Clearwater Casino: Time again to visit Clearwater, just over an hour’s drive from Sequim located at dramatic Agate Pass. Try the wonderful buffet lunch 50% off! We need 35 people for this big bus to go, so invite your friends for the fun! Just $10 for everyone! Departs 9:00 am.

Saturday the 12th, Quilcene, the 25th, Olympic Music Festival, Concerts in the Barn: Enjoy our Peninsula’s classical music treat! Relax in reserved seats (folding chairs & church pews) and listen to world-class music. Lunch is a picnic (included in our price) that we eat outside on tables in an orchard. Our concert today is all Beethoven masterworks. Need a minimum of 15 please. Just $49 for everyone. Departs noon.

Tuesday the 15th, Seattle, “Ride the Ducks”: Starts near the Space Needle. We ride in those great amphibious craft from WWII (Coast Guard inspected & certified); tour the waterfront, Pioneer Square & the shopping district, loop by freaky Fremont, then we splash into Lake Union, see breathtaking views of the Emerald City & Seattle’s famous houseboats. Time to eat at The Center House (your expense) before our tour. Minimum 12. $55 members / $70 non. Departs 8:45 am.

Friday the 25th, Port Gamble, the 49th, Kitsap Arts and Crafts Festival: A charming day out in this historic Victorian mill town. Visit, more than 100 festival arts & crafts booths. You might want to visit the General Store and the Pope & Talbot Mill Museum before our return. $25 members/$40 non. Departs 10:00 am.    

Thursday the 31st, Edmonds/Lynnwood, James Village area shopping: Again by special request, Big Lots, Joann’s, Half Price Book Fred Meyers & Trader Joe’s. Our bus will pick us up & drop off each hour. $20 members/$35 non. Departs 9:00 am.

 Rummage through our big BENEFIT SALE on the 7th,& 8th.

Tuesday the 5th, Marysville, Tulalip Casino and the new Outlet Mall: Off to Marysville via Kingston to a beautiful casino. Some of us will stay to gamble and others will spend their time shopping at the outlet mall (just across a parking lot). Enroute we’ll stop by Trader Joe’s! $45 members / $65 non. Departs 8:30 am.

**NEW**Wednesday the 13th Pt. Hadlock & Pt. Townsend: Calling all fiber lovers, knitters, tatters & crochet enthusiasts! We’ll visit 2 or 3 yarn shops then have time for lunch at the old Alcohol Factory, now called Nemo’s, at the Inn at Port Hadlock. Lunches cost $10/$20 your expense. $15 each of 15. Departs 9:30 am.

Friday the 15th, Pt. Angeles, Clallam Country Fair: Everybody enjoys a day at the Fair. We drop you off at the gate so you can avoid a long dusty walk through the parking lot! Enjoy farm animals, fair food, music and entertainment. We’ll stay four hours. Your entry ticket is included. Everyone $20 Departs10:00 am.

Thursday the 21st, La Push & Forks: We take the scenic drive along the Olympic National Forest to the old logging city of Forks and visit the Timber Museum, then on to the Quileute Reservation and La Push. Lunch is at the River’s Edge Restaurant ($5/$10 your expense). $40 members / $55 non. Departs 9:00 am.

Sunday the 24th, Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland: Our last game of the season! $58 everyone. Departs 8:30 am.

Wednesday the 27th, Chinatown, Wing Luke & Uwajimaya Market: The new Wing Luke museum is now open. Always festive, Seattle’s International District is wonderful, enjoy the brilliant colors and delicious food. Shop Uwajimaya for oriental specialties & try some exotic dishes. $45 members / $60 non. Departs 8:30 am.

TRIP POLICIES

         We have a Tour Coordinator to take your reservations and payments from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday at the Sequim Senior Activity Center office.

Full payment is expected when you reserve your space on a tour. We can accept checks and money orders only (sorry, no cash or credit cards).

Please notify the Tour Coordinator of a cancellation at least one week prior to your departure date. Refunds depend on each situation.

Due to other passengers' sensitivities and allergies, we have to ask that our passengers refrain from wearing perfume or cologne on our Senior Center Trips. What may be sweet to us is overwhelming to others.

We are asking our wonderful, able-bodied travelers to use our overflow parking lot across the street.  We appreciate all who voluntarily park in this area for long-term parking.

We may have to cancel trips if we are unable to sell a minimum number of seats. If we must cancel a trip, we will phone those who had paid and arrange to make refunds, usually one week prior to the planned departure date.

So sign up early to avoid disappointment!
