Join the Sequim Hiking Group on Wednesday mornings as we explore the forest trails and byways of Washington's Olympic Peninsula.
Richard Dinzl's many years of Olympic Peninsula hiking experience help to ensure that the group hikes a wide and interesting variety of trails (and that we don't get lost!), from the remote back country in summertime to beachfronts and low areas in the winter.
Participants generally range in age from 40 on up, and the breadth of skill and fitness levels are such that everyone has plenty of companions for their particular level.
Inclement weather usually does not cancel - though it may shorten the hike a bit. Hike lengths range from 4 miles to maybe 11, and elevation gain from just a few hundred feet to possibly 3000.
Hikes have usually been scouted by Richard, who prepares a description and an overall difficulty rating (1 - easiest, to 10 - most strenuous) for each hike, and includes these in each monthly schedule (see below). You get a good picture what the experience is going to be each Wednesday, including his suggestions for a lunchstop after the hike, if we're not in the back country.
Forward any questions you may have to Richard at richd@olypen.com, or by 'phone to 360-683-9162.
Below are hints of the visual and experiential joys awaiting those participating in a Sequim Hiking Group event. Have a great hike!

For some really nice photos from our recent hikes, click below. But be patient. Each of these web pages will take a few minutes to download. The scenes are from near the top of the hike, above 5000 ft. These were long climbs, but as you will see, the scenery more than repaid the efforts!
