Disneyworld

Magic Kingdom:       

Use monorail or ferry to get to the park. If you are staying in a Disney resort you can also take a bus.

                                           

Utilize fast passes for Space, Splash, and Thunder Mountain. If you are competitive, you will want to do Buzz Light Year as well.

The path between Space Mountain and Tune Tune is a great all-around short cut. Check it out early as a means of navigating the park.

Presidents Hall

Train ride around the kingdom.

Tram around Tomorrowland.

Magic Kingdom Fireworks. Locate cable coming from the castle. This is where Tinker Bell will come down before the show begins. The cable heads toward Tomorrowland.

Good places to eat.

Pecos Bills with mile long bar in Frontierland. Great burgers and lots of condiments.

The Plaza Pavilion. Great vegetable soup especially if you load it with onions and mushrooms at the condiment bar.

Columbia House in Liberty Square has chicken and fish. Rarely crowded.

Transportation:

Utilize the Mears shuttle from the Airport if you are staying at a Disney resort. Disney resort transportation consists of buses, monorails, and boats. The buses are great transportation between the resorts and the parks.

Animal Kingdom:

Get a park map/guide when you enter the park for most current information. Remember to use fast passes. This park usually closes early around 6:00 PM.

Ride Kilamanjaro Safari ride first and get a fast past for a second ride before you enter.

Take the train to Rafikis Planet Watch while you wait for you fast pass to mature and take the Pangani Forest Trail while you are there as well.

Must do show – Festival of the Lion King 30 min.

Must do show – Tough to be a bug 8 min. Make sure you sit firmly in your seat.

Must do show – Wonders of Flight live bird show.

Must do show – Tarzan Rocks 30 min. High energy and great live band.

Dinosaur ride.

The Kali River Rapids ride is ok. But you get soaked and will probably need a change of clothes. We wore our raincoats and pulled them tight around necks and sat on them and still got wet.

Good Places to Eat, Pizzafari, BBQ, Breakfastsaurus in Dinoland.

Adults may finish this park early, but it could be an all day educational event if you have kids.

MGM Studios:

Get fast pass for Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster. Rockin Roller Coaster is possibly the best thrill ride in all of Disneyworld. You will probably end up wanted to do these rides multiple times so get as many fast passes here as possible. Remember that fast passes at Disneyworld must be used in the time frame printed on the ticket.

There are many great shows at this park. See as many below as you can:

The Great Movie Ride

Little Mermaid. Live and Animation. Great special effects.

Walt Disney Story. A walk through display and movie of his life.

Backlot tour. 40 minutes.

Animation tour of Disney artists at work.

Drew Cary sounds dangerous. Show with great audio. You will be in 7 minutes of darkness.

Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. Live 30 minute show.

Beauty and the Beast.

Stars and motorcars parade.

Must do show – Fantasmic is a must see evening show in the outdoor theater. There are two shows and you need to arrive 30 – 60 minutes early to get a seat. All seats are good, and the seats to your right are closest to the exit. The last show seemed to be the least crowded.

Good Places to Eat:

Commissary – Great Fish and Chips

Sci – Fi diner in Theater. Sit down and a bit more expensive. Ask to “peek insidide”.

Also “peek inside” Prime Time 50’s café.

Downtown Disney:

Market Place – shops and restaurants open until 11:00 PM

Pleasure Island – Night life with cover charge and open until 2:00 AM

West Side – Virgin Mega Records, House of Blues, Cirque de Soleil

Wulfgang Puks express is an excellent place to get a non-fast food style meal for under 10 dollars. Lasagna and Chicken dinners are excellent.

Boardwalk:

This area is good for an evening stroll. You can catch an air conditioned boat to this area from both Epcot or MGM Studios. You can also walk from MGM or The International Gateway in Epcot.

The Beach Club and The Yacht Club have very nice lobbies and fancy bathrooms.

The Boardwalk Hotel and Resort has a great pool.

ESPN has TVs in the bathrooms.

Swan and Dolphin Resort has a great lobby.

Disney Resorts:

Visiting the various Disney resorts is a great adventure for the days you do not visit the parks. This is also a great way to familiarize yourself with the various transportation systems.

Epcot:

Get fast pass for Test Track ASAP.

Do not wait more than 5-10 minutes for Spaceship Earth. Wait until mid-afternoon if there is a line.

Start with the Living Seas. 7 min film and then explore large fish tanks.

Living with the Land.

Honey I shrunk the audience.

Journey into Imagination.

Universe of Energy. 45 minute attraction.

Innovations East and West.

International Gateway

Ocanada 360 degree film. 18 minutes.

France 18 min film.

America Adventure is a must see. 30 minutes.

China 360 degree film. 18 minutes.

Must see the youth adrobat show here. Excellent.

Norway boat ride.

Mexico boat ride.

All other countries have shops and entertainment.

Good places to eat.

Japanese fast food.

Chinese fast food.

American Burgers and fries.

The Land has a variety of choices in the food court.

Evening show Illuminations. It happens over the water so avoid being in front of trees. Canada, Italy, and Mexico are good places to view the show.
