Part 1:  Write the prepositional phrase(s) for each sentence. (3 pts each answer)

 

  1. Here are the herds of hungry sheep.

  3. The grapefruit arrived in a wooden crate.
  4. Against the fence rested the tired worker.
  5. The monkey climbed into the hammock.
  6. The cat jumped off the shelf.
  7. The mole moved slowly through his tunnel.
  8. Denise jumped over the last hurdle and won the race.
  9. Jackie slammed the ball across the infield.
  10. Among the dunes grew flowers and tall weeds.

 

Part 2: For the underlined word, write whether it is an adverb or a preposition. (3 pts each answer)
