Part 1:  Personal Pronouns

            Directions:  Write the pronoun in sentence.  Write the noun for which it stands.

            1 point for each answer.

 

  1. John, your football is in the family room.
  2. The school has kept its trophy.
  3. The engineer has made her recommendations.
  4. Can you carry that typewriter yourself, Mike?
  5. The boys have finished their delivery routes.
  6. Elli noticed the wilting plants and watered them.
  7. Mary gave her sister a hug.
  8. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan sold their house last week.
  9. The rabbit wiggled its nose.
  10. Tim was late.  He had missed his train.

 

Part 2:  Indefinite pronouns

            Directions:  Write the indefinite pronoun in each sentence.  Write the correct verb that agrees with it in number.  1 point for each answer.

 

  1. Nobody (was, were) more surprised than I.
  2. Neither of the candidates (has, have) a strong platform.
  3. Everybody in those areas (is, are) eligible for a loan.
