Examples:            I wrote a letter to Anne.                I will write a letter to Anne

                    I was writing a letter to Anne. I will be writing a letter to Anne.

 

                    I write a letter to Anne.           I have written a letter to Anne.

                    I am writing a letter to Anne. I have been writing a letter to Anne.

 

                    I had written a letter to Anne.           He has written a letter to Anne.

                    I had been writing a letter to Anne. He has been writing a letter to Anne.

 

 

Directions: Rewrite the sentences changing the verb into the progressive form.  Be careful not to change the tense of the verb.

 

1.     Our club meets again on Tuesday.

2.     The tractor slowed down.

3.     Our teacher had talked to us about the dangers of drugs.

4.     Some children cried in the doctor’s office.

5.     I will think about your suggestions.

6.     Jan watched a program on television.
