Pro/Con
Essay #7
Outline
I.
Introduction:
The
introduction should start with a lead statement. One usually needs to use a sentence or two to explain
what that lead is all about. Then one gets to the heart of the
introduction, that is, the two sides of the issue must be explained.
Finally, end with a strong thesis statement. (But be careful,
do not use the word “I” in the thesis.)
In
fact, don’t use the words “you” or “I” at all in the essay.

to explain that one side. Then shift to the other side saying:
Other people disagree and
they say
_______________(other side of the issue)_____. Again,
use two or three sentences to explain that side of the issue.
