Class Discipline Plan

This classroom discipline plan provides every student the opportunity to manage his or her own behavior. Students deserve the most positive educational climate possible for academic growth. Therefore, this plan will be in effect at all times.

The rules for my classroom are:
1. Be in the class, seated, when the bell rings and class begins.
2. Bring materials to class: book, pen, pencil, three ring binder, and paper.
3. Raise your hand and be called on before speaking.
4 Follow directions the first time they are given.

If a student breaks a rule:
first time - -2 pts.
second time - -4pts.
third time - -6pts. Office referral
fourth time - -8pts.
fifth time - -10pts.
- tardy to class- -10pts.

- SEVERE CLAUSE if a student severely disrupts my classroom and stops me from teaching and other students from learning, I will immediately write a referral and remove the student from class.

- Continued willful disobedience - a referral is written when a student continues to break school rules. That is, the third tardy to class, third time without materials, ect.

- Bathroom breaks – I do not give passes for bathroom breaks during class time. The student has five minutes between classes that may be used. If a student has an emergency, he or she may certainly leave the room. That student may not return until he or she gets a note from the office. This is to document when a student leaves the room. If a student has one or two emergencies per semester, there will be no problem. If a student leaves the room several times a week, this needs to be documented. Time missed in class will have to be made up in lunch detention. This will impact the student’s grade.

-Attendance: Teacher takes attendance at the beginning of class. A student more than 10 minutes tardy is counted absent.

For those students who choose to follow the classroom rules, I will give them verbal praise, positive notes home, and allow more freedom for extracurricular activities. There are also other positive student recognition programs for those who choose to follow the rules.
