Business Meeting September 18, 2006 Peninsula Tennis Club Rosemary started the meeting with a report on tennis in the Port Angeles Senior games. There were 22 different people who played in a variety of events. She suggested next year sending information about the games to club members in the senior games age group. Laurel suggested posting information about the games in the USTA tournament web site. Laurel has heard that the Shane Park tennis courts will be resurfaced this fall with city funds. Laurel stated that there are Community Tennis Ass. grants available and asked for suggestions of items which might help the tennis program. Bob suggested that a laptop computer and printer would be very helpful at tournaments. Other items nominated were a video camera, marketing items, and a ball machine. Erickson fund raising. Laurel stated that several people have volunteered to contact local companies for possible donations. No contacts have been made at this time. Dick Kent suggested a credit card tied to the tennis club as a fund raising idea. The committee voted to not follow up on this idea. Indoor tennis court update. The indoor court idea was dropped from the swimming pool bond but the YMCA is still interested in this as a future project. Bob stated that there doesn’t seem to be much support for the pool bond issue even from local swimmers. Rosemary suggested putting detailed information about the bond in the senior center newsletter. Rosemary complimented Bob on all his time and efforts promoting the indoor court and bond issue. Also a big thank you to Laurel for all her efforts promoting tennis over the last couple of years. Fall calendar Rosemary will have a tennis social event at here house some time in November. Becky suggested we have a different format for our December tennis club dinner and business meeting. She will work on the format and location for the dinner. There was a motion made, seconded and passed that Bob get free entry into next years Sandra Kent tournament. Carl Strunk Secretary
