Monthly Business Meeting - June 18th, 2007 Business Meeting 6-18-07 Laurel opened the meeting. The Port Angeles city council meeting to decide whether to put more money toward the Erickson tennis courts will be tomorrow 6-19-07 at 6 pm. Bill Leong and Peter Cram from the USTA will be attending the meeting. Laurel made a motion that the Peninsula Tennis Club put $500 aside each year toward the future resurfacing of the Erickson courts. It was seconded and approved. The Sequim ultimate doubles tournament will take place on June 23rd. The Tennis Warehouse will donate eight $25 gift certificates towards Peninsula tournaments. They will also donate racket bags and tee shirts and may donate funds towards the equipment shed at Erickson field. They will also give a significant discount on good quality tennis balls if we buy ten cases. Bob is thinking about giving tennis balls as prizes for winners of the Sandra Kent tournament but will have to look into the cost and quantity. He is also contacting Costco to see if they might be willing to donate prizes. The banner which was attached to the Erickson court fence was shredded by the wind. Cracks are showing up on the newly refinished Shane park courts. In addition there are a couple of places where puddles form after rain and dip in the surface of one of the serving boxes. Bob stated that the clubs new computer needs to purchase virus protection. He was given the go ahead to do so. Carl Strunk Secretary
