Monthly Business Meeting, 2/20/08

Present – Laurel & Christy.

Laurel had previously talked to Casi, and gotten bank balances:

Approx $6000 checking, $1400 savings, $4800 CD.  Laurel & Casi agreed to buy Quickbooks for PTC - $162.00

Scholarship discussion:

Discussion that club should agree on limit for annual scholarships.  Laurel suggested $1500 - $2000 / yr. would be appropriate. Christy suggested 3 x $500 scholarships.  No decision made.  Casi & Laurel had suggested to dispense w/ collecting notebooks, and just base scholarship on the application Casi created from the officer's discussion last year.  (We decided to focus on GPA and tennis participation, and disregard other criteria.) Christy agreed.  This will make scholarship process much simpler.  Laurel agreed to serve as scholarship committee chair.  (Have since obtained scholarship app from Casi & sent to PAHS, also am contacting SHS.)

Julien set June 21^st as date for Sequim Ultimate Doubles.

Laurel picked Saturday, May 31^st for official Erickson opening, based on Gail Benzler of the USTA PNW’s availability.

Christy said she would get spring league letter out soon.

Chuck Matheny and Jen Gouge have volunteered to run Saundra Kent.  YAY!!  Laurel & Bob R. will set up planning meeting with them soon.
