Hi,
My
name is Joshua Gonzalez and I am inviting you to my Grandma NormaŐs
birthday. She is going to be 60 on
Saturday, September 13th, 2008. ThatŐs really old.
The last time she had a big birthday, I wasnŐt even born. Her cat, Oliver gave her a party
then. This time, Sammie and I and
Mommy and Papa are going to help.
Grandma
really loves certain things.
Number one is Sammie and I, of course. She also loves her family and friends, teaching and
quilting, all kinds of music, and food.
WeŐve decided to have all of them but the teaching and quilting at the
party.
Grandma,
Mommy, and Papa said lots of people from far away canŐt come because of the
price of gas. ThatŐs O.K. Just send Grandma a card. She will understand. Grandma says she doesnŐt want any
presents. (I donŐt understand
why.) She says she has everything
she needs and it would just be more stuff to have to dust.
ItŐs
going to be a long party. We are
going to start at 1:00 p.m. and finish at 11:30 p.m. ItŐs one of those where you can come and go and come back
again if you want to. We are
going to have live music and hot dogs in the afternoon, birthday cake at 5:00,
and then Mexican food and dancing. Grandma says life is short and on her
birthday we can eat dessert first.
She also says she canŐt dance any more. Her feet donŐt go where they are supposed to, but she taps
her foot a lot and she loves to watch other people dance. She said we can have my favorite Cumbia
mix music, (she likes it too), but every 10 songs we have to have an
oldie. I guess that is because she
is old.
I
forgot to tell you where the party isÉ. Pioneer Park on East Washington Street
in Sequim. They have a nice
clubhouse there and places to play outside for the kids.
On the
back of this invitation are a schedule and an address to send your RSVP. Grandma says that means you tell us if
you are coming so we make sure we have enough food and birthday cake.
I
hope you can come!
