The following are only samples that showcase some of the work I have done, both in the school and work environments. Though most of my work samples are for the print industry, the school samples do show knowledge and experience with interactive media. Since these samples are copyrighted, either to former employers, clients or myself, they should never be distributed in any form.
Interactive Media: Creating web sites was my original purpose in attending the Arts Institute Online courses, but through my studies, I have come to realize there is so much more then just web sites that are available to a creative designer. One web site that I am especially pleased to share with you was developed for 3RC. (Please use your browser back button to return to this page.) Unfortunately, this company is no longer in business, but the work done here shows some of my first and best work at the time. Another web site that is in progress is the Port Angeles Baháís. The photos were taken by me, with my digital camera and then manipulated in Photoshop. This is to be a very simple site with the purpose of disseminating information and current happenings. A few photos will be distributed through out the site as they become available. Due to the administrative structure of the Baháí organization, the consulting process is more time consuming then the actual production of the site
The following two projects were done in Macromedia Director MX 2004 for Authoring classes. The first project was done in a team environment with duration of five weeks to create, design and implement.(Please use your browser back button to return to this page.) My position on this project was project manager and graphic designer and technical writer. The second project had the same parameters as the first, except it was done as a solo project, no team to work with and I had to research, create, design and implement the complete project by myself.
Print Samples: The following samples of published print work show page layout, photo manipulation and graphic design, per the request of the client. In this brochure, I did the page layout in InDesign, creating the background image in Photoshop as well as enhance the photos. Text was typed and laid out in columns. The map is of the campground and was drawn with Illustrator. Some of the additional graphics was done individually in Illustrator and placed on top of the map, creating multiple layers in InDesign. The map of the town was also drawn in Illustrator, ensuring proper measurements to allow for the neighboring ad.
Other published print work I have created are business cards. Creating logos and coming up with a look for business cards are skills that have impressed these clients by far. The first one was created for the company of 3RC, a motorcycle website encourages touring by cycling. The logo and layout was all created in Illustrator. The next business card has a car for a background image that was manipulated in Photoshop, then placed in Illustrator and text added. Due to the darkness of the car image, the text needed to stand out, so a white shadow image was added behind the text. The last business card, the client wanted something colorful. Due to his topic being primarily black, the name was created in a colorful array and the images, edited in Photoshop, were placed accordingly to demonstrate his service.
Animation: I have a few animations examples to show you. They were done for class assignments, but shows animation is a technique I can create.
Video: I have done some video and presentation productions from class projects created with Final Cut Express and iMovie.
Other Media: The last samples I would like to share with you are rubber stamps that I have created. I have designed, manufactured and sold rubber stamps as a hobby. You will see images of the design work and not a photo of an actual rubber stamp here in this portfolio. I have done some other miscellanious projects and have posted them here.
