I have found that potential clients and employers tend to want to know a bit about me personally. Therefore, this page is dedicated to my interests, my hobbies, my beliefs, my values and who I am as a person. If you are not interested in reading the following, please don’t feel obligated to stay!

I could start out the day I came into this world, but that would be too long and boring for most of you reading this essay. So I will skip to after high school and begin there.

After high school, I joined the military. During my contract with the Army, I spent 13 months in South Korea. I really enjoyed learning about how another country lives and works, something one can’t find in books!!! After my years in the military and reserve program, I spent a lot of time going to school. I earned my AA in Liberal Arts, but found I wasn’t satisfied with that. I wanted to learn more about business by getting an AS in Business and then an AS in Mid-Management. So why just getting three Associates degrees, you may be thinking. Well, it has to do with not living near a four-year institution to work towards a Bachelors degree. During these years I moved several times, one of which was to American Samoa where only a two-year institution again was available. I continued my Business through the college on the island, but received credits by another school state side. By the way, American Samoa was another interesting place to learn how other countries lives and works!

After returning state side from American Samoa, I finished my third AS degree and worked for a local publishing company willing to gamble on me by training me in computer graphic design and about the print industry. The latent talents and skills within me grew in great strides from the diverse experience and the desire to learn more grew even faster.

The time came that I desired more formal education in graphic design, but I wanted also to do more then just graphic design. I wanted to explore the new media of the Internet by designing web sites. I research schooling options and found the Arts Institute Online and knew right away that I needed to enroll in their Bachelor program for Interactive Media. I am currently in my third year of their four-year program and find the education with the Arts Institute Online is better then I first anticipated.

As for my interest and hobbies, I enjoy taking photos with my digital Sony Cybershot 5.0 megapixel camera. I love to read, go camping, swimming and walking whenever possible. I am addicted to my computer, especially since starting AIO!!!

I do believe in spirituality, but I refuse to try to convert or argue about it. I think everyone needs to find their own path, whatever it may be, as long as it doesn’t hurt others. I am willing to work in a team environment as well as individually without supervision. In either case, I learn by doing and am willing to do things I haven’t done before. This is what makes me a valuable person to any team, large or small.
