Ruby Beach

Ruby Beach is famous for its red garnet-impregnated sand (hence, the name "Ruby") and can be accessed where 101 South rejoins the coast about 30 miles south of Forks and 6 or so miles from Kalaloch. The beach itself can only be reached by descending a fairly steep bluff, but the trail is excellent. The sea stacks on this beach are particularly photogenic. A creek flowing into the ocean at the immediate north end of the beach limits passage to those wearing boots, but to the south the beach can be walked for miles.
