On the lodge website (www.manitoulodge.com), photos of two of our rooms (Sacagawea and Eagle) have been posted. Space constraints on this site prevented us from posting a complete gallery of room photos. Here are photographs and descriptions of the remaining five rooms, including the Outback room, our newly opened camping cabin. Please refer back to the Lodge website for rates and pictures of the Sacagawea and Eagle rooms.
On the ground floor off a hallway leading from the great room, Pocahontas is a smaller, cozy room with a queen bed with and a bath with a shower only. The room is decorated with colorful handmade quilts from Vermont. The wooden rocker in the photo was Ed's grandmother's favorite (click on the above photo for a larger image).
Upstairs in the lodge, "Lady" is a large room with a king bed plus a twin bed, and a bath with a tub/shower combination. Lady's interior entrance opens onto a large balcony/mezzanine overlooking the great room. This area, containing couches, chairs and a table, provides extra space for guests occupying the upstairs rooms. Lily's rear entrance (around the corner to the right and not seen in the photo) leads to an exterior second-floor deck The deck is a great place to enjoy a spring or summer evening or a first cup of coffee in the morning.
Also upstairs in the lodge, "Lily " is essentially identical to "Lady" except that it contains a king bed only as well as a bath with a tub/shower combination. It's interior and exterior entrances also open onto the balcony/mezzanine and second-floor deck, respectively.
Owl is a two-room suite in our detached cottage just across the driveway from the main lodge building. Owl has a full (slightly larger than a double) bed in the bedroom and two twin beds in the sitting room. There is also a fold-out chair in the room providing extra sleeping space for pre-teen children.
This spring, we have opened the "Outback" far upscale camping room. Outback is a small detached cabin (As you might imagine, it's out back, but just a few steps from the lodge). The room contains a double bed, chair, and table. There's a cold water sink with soap and towels, electricity, a space heater, coffeepot, but (here's what makes it "camping") no bathroom. However, a chemical toilet is available a short walk away in our tentsite area, and we provide a lantern for night trips. Despite some primitive features, Outback is fully carpeted (hence, "upscale"). Outback could also provide sleeping space for members of larger groups or families.
