JOHN S LAMBERT- RAIDER IN 3rd Bn/I Company

Nothing is known about John’s effort to get into the Corps and again into the Raiders.  The only information that I can give is that John has the doubtful distinction of one of the most wounded Raider that I have heard off.

We would like to hear more of his entry into to the CORP And the Raiders. I would print a supplement and send to all committee members if he will furnish me the story. (JOHN FERGUSON)

From being wounded in action on Guam and three times in action on Okinawa campaign, John's  Purple Heart contains three gold stars. That my friends is quite an honor.  John went on to serve in occupation of Japan.  He was sent home in December of 1945. He was still only 18 years old.  So like a lot of us he went back to High School.

John later returned to Guam, for the third time, only this time as a heavy equipment operator while working as a civil service. He then felt the need to further his education, so went to community college and then attended the university of Southern California.

His thirty-year lifetime job began with Brown and Williamson Tobacco. The first four years as a sales representative, but the rest of his thirty years was their sales manager.  John “retired” by joining his wife Clarice in running a business of farming ten acres of peaches and walnuts, selling to Del Monte corp. and local distributors.
