Frank Ferguson - 3/p—4/p

Frank was one of the Raiders ,  who were underage when he joined the Marines, but his Father signed his papers so he could get in. Not many of our fathers who had been through the First World War would have done that for us.

Frank seems to want to keep most of his story about his service in the Raiders a secret, but I for one hope he will submit a supplement to his service.

Frank's Purple Heart must be one for “Believe it Or Not “ there is so much left unsaid that I want to hear more. Frank says in his letter that the reason he got his Purple Heart was that while fighting a Jap, he almost bites his thumb off.  He would not say why he put his thumb into the Jap's mouth but I assume that there were extenuating circumstances. This most unusual incident occurred just south of Naha.

When Frank was discharged, he continued his education by going to Univ. of Calif. at Berkeley.  He received his degree in business administration. He became an insurance broker, real estate broker and later owned a pharmacy in San Francisco for 20 years. He then started a business in medical supplies.  He again sold that business now is the proud owner of “Men Gifts and Canes”

Frank reports that he has been married for 48 years but it took two women to obtain this record. His present wife name is Margie.  Talk about a proven sire, Frank has 7 children and 14 grandchildren.   “Getting close to platoon size”
