Dale Faulstich / totem poles

Magnificent and mystical, totem poles have become the symbol of Northwest Coast native culture. The haunting power of these carved monuments comes from their bold and complex designs, depicting extraordinary creatures and figures. Usually carved from an "old-growth" Western Red Cedar log, often over 800 years old, these large sculptures make a statement well beyond the carver's art and the history they embody.
