"Sea Critters" in the Wild
Many visitors to the Feiro Marine Life Center often ask: "Where can I go to see these animals in the natural environment?" Probably the best place to do this in the Port Angeles area is at Salt Creek County Park.

To get to Salt Creek County Park, head west from Port Angeles on US 101 until you come to the intersection of SR 112. Turn right on SR 112 and head west towards Joyce. Watch for the park signs and make a right turn on Camp Hayden Road. Follow this until you come to the park entrance. |
| After entering the park, follow the road to the left to the camping area on the bluffs overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There are stairs leading down the bluffs to the intertidal area. |

This group got wet on their return. Always check the tide before going out on the rocks at Tongue Point. Remember that it can be dangerous getting back up the bluffs if you are caught at an incoming tide. When near the water’s edge, always be on the lookout for floating logs. |
| Salt Creek County Park is a marine preserve so it is illegal to collect or disturb any marine life unless you are a Black Oyster Catcher. Enjoy nature in the wild. |
