Habitat For Humanity of Clallam County is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses are then sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - ‘sweat equity’ - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
We are currently working on Campbell Avenue in Port Angeles. Here we are in the process of constructing four two-story homes, the first of which is almost finished. With three more of these homes to erect, we are urgently in need of Volunteers to assist us reach our goal of building all four of these homes by the end of next year. Our construction work schedule is Wednesday and Saturday. Interested volunteers and businesses please contact our office at (360) 681-6780.
With an increase in our construction effort, there are a variety of opportunities for involvement in our mission to eliminate sub-standard housing in Clallam County: Board Membership, Committee Chairpersons, Construction Team Leaders, office administration, Church Relations, Fund Raising, Publicity, Volunteer Coordination, and Construction Materials Procurement. For more information, please call our office at (360) 681-6780. Office hours are Monday through Wednesday between
9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Land Update
We are now the proud owners of a 1.7 acre parcel of land in the city of Forks. Discussions with the city planners suggest that we should be able to create 10 building lots from the parcel. Several organizing meetings have occurred during the past several months and we now have a core group of people to begin organizing Family Selection, Fund Raising and Construction efforts in Forks.
If you are interested in helping to support the building of affordable housing in the Port Angeles area or the West End, please contact the Habitat office in Sequim at (360) 681-6780
Land costs are thirty percent (30%) of the cost of a Habitat home. We are always interested in hearing from individuals that have land that they would be willing to donate. Many members of the community have the land. Habitat needs land to fulfill our mission. Give us a call and lets get together to make something wonderful happen.
