EMERALD  CITY K-9 FREESTYLE DANCERS
Pat Moore

President
Pat Moore has been showing dogs in some capacity since 1976 (obedience, conformation, field trials, Therapy dogs, and now freestyle).  Over the years she started with a poodle, then had a few Gordon setters, a couple of English cockers, then back into poodles.  She has 3toys and 2 minis now. She discovered freestyle when she was watching the English show Crufts and saw Mary Ray do a demonstration.  She was hooked and knew she was going to find out about what that sport was all about.  After searching the internet she discovered the Canadian group Paws2Dance, connected up with them and started to learn.  A while later, while on a trip up to Canada to train, she had the brain storm (along with Carolyn Money) that we should have an American chapter of the club and have shows down here.  ECK9FD was born. From that idea of  just having a club, we come to now, where we put on shows for P2D and also WCFO and also have training seminars with the best freestyle trainers, and do many demos around the Seattle area.  She has personally put titles on 4 poodles and had a lot of fun.  Who knew how far we could come from just a little idea.

Corinne Lawson

Vice President
Corinne Lawson has been involved in Canine Freestyle since 2001 when she was intrigued with the sport.  Her Aussie was then not physically able to do the things he wanted such as agility and herding, and when she found Canine Freestyle, they were both hooked.  The combination of mental and physical work based on the level of the handler and dog is a perfect sport for anyone!    Since then, Corinne has gone on with her Aussie and English Shepherd to earn Advance and Championship titles with both Paws 2 Dance and World Canine Freestyle Organization.  Corinne also teaches at Positive Dog Training School in Woodinville.    She started out teaching herself and then others who wanted to learn as well.  Her teaching style and classes have evolved as her learning and appreciation for the sport has grown.  Corinne also started helping out the club's founders; Carolyn Money and Pat Moore in the early years as these two ladies were doing all the work of organizing shows and workshops. Our little club has grown now to a membership over 35, 2 shows a year, a weekend workshop once a year and sometimes a mini-workshop, as well as performing in many demos each summer!  She is very excited about the growth of the club, the sport and her new dog!

Carolyn Money

Secretary
Treasurer

Carolyn wanted to learn more about Canine Freestyle before she ever saw it performed, from just hearing about it and then when she saw a demo at the Western Regional Pepperoni Obedience Trials in Tacoma, WA in 1999 she knew that was for her.... Carolyn has a background in dance, community theater and USO shows and since this sport combines dance, acting and dogs could there be anything more perfect...She has worked with four Goldens since actively becoming involved in 2000, Lady Bug, Promise, Sunny and Hunter... They have all been active in Agility, Obedience, Rally, Therapy (TDI) and musical freestyle and won many titles and awards...

Our little group has grown from an idea to a reality in our 10 years of being involved in Musical Canine Freestyle and will only continue to prosper and gain momentum as more people find out about it....
