46.24 knots,
The 10m2 WSSRC World Record!

12/3/2003 --The 10m2 class record is broken by Finian Maynard. Finian uses both a Naish board and a Naish sail. Despite some setbacks early on, Finian Maynard was finally able to realize his dream of being the fastest windsurfer in history by breaking Thierry Bielak's mark. I designed the asymmetric wide-sock sail for Naish. With this record this sail becomes the fastest 'softsail' in the world. The new record was officially ratified by the World Speed Sailing Council. (WSSRC)

Having been denied entry into the World Speedsailng Challenge, hosted by Bjorn Dunkerbeck, Finian decided to take matters into his own hands by chartering the famous canal at St. Marie de la Mer and creating the Masters of Speed event.

Six months prior, I was working closely with Robby Naish to build him the sails he needed to compete against Dunkerbeck in the World Speedsailing Challenge. When Maynard was brought onto the Naish team, development shifted into high gear. To check out some of the sail prototypes made, be sure to visit the 'Projects' link above.
