Cinders, a neighborhood independent cat, decided to move in with a 89 year old lady who already had two old cats. The lady called for help so I took Cinders to the vet to get her checked. She became a PFOA cat when we couldn't find her previous owner. And then she escaped from her quarantine cattery through a very small gap in the fencing and over the roof to freedom. Truly a lassie that could not be held against her will. A year later PFOA got a call from a lady who had been feeding this 'Dusty', a tortie - a sweet cat, but I can't keep her..." and she sent in a photo. I knew the minute I saw her that "Dusty" was our Cinders. She was within a quartermile of her escape home. Had been, all winter, She is now back in the compound, unadoptable, free to come and go, and perfectly happy. |
