He inherited the homestead fromhis father, and his name is among those who took the oath of allegianceat Haverhill, November 28, 1677. He was also among those soldiers paid bythe town, August 24, 1676, for serving in the Indian wars. He diedintestate, February 17, 1698, and the inventory of his estate was filedAugust 1, 1698. He married Mary, born November 18, 1667, daughter ofGilbert Wilford, of Haverhill. She married (second) William Whittaker, ofHaverhill. Children: John, mentioned below; Mary, born February. 25,1687; Thomas, March 2, 1689; Hannah, 1691; Timothy, December 13, 1693;Jonathan, July 16, 1695; Mehitable, May 15, 1698. Fought in KingPhilip's Indian War under Lt. Benjamin Swett in June & August, 1676;John's name appears among those who took the oath of allegiance atHaverville, November 28, 1677.
