385. Sarah CHASE GRINNELL

I have (Capt.) Abraham Hathaway having married Sarah Chase Grinnell. Shewas married to Daniel Grinnel previously, and they had 2 or 3 sonstogether, but Daniel (Sr.) died after several years of marriage.According to the Hathaway book, she then married our Capt. Abraham. However, this seems to be unproven:( No one seems able to find either amarriage record for Sarah/Abraham, or a death record for Sarah. Icontinue to hope for such finds, but am tentatively proceding assumingSarah's marriage into Hathaways. ABRAHAM and Sarah Chase GrinnellHATHAWAY children: Abraham, Miriam, Nathan, Roda, Joanna, William, Sarah,Richard and Martha.

452. Benjamin GIST

. Benjamin is known to have lived in the frontier areas of Va., theCarolina and Tennessee. Most researchers think he is the probable son ofNathanial (1710-1787) and Mary Howard but others think he is an originalemigrant. There seems to be a lack of any significant proof either way.
