Choose Compass from the Tool menu.

Position the cursor where you would like to place an anchor
point

Left click to place an anchor point
–Once
you have placed an anchor point on the map, TOPO!
displays the direction and distance from the anchor
point to your cursor in the status bar. TOPO! updates
the display as you move your cursor.
