WELCOME

TO THE

CLALLAM COUNTY

GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY

The Clallam County Genealogical Society was officially organized in May of 1981 with the purpose of offering fellowship and assistance to anyone interested in family history research. Since our organization, we have developed a fine collection of books, CD's, and research materials covering the United States and many foreign countries.

Our library is located at 931 West 9th Street, Port Angeles which is in the building behind Lincoln School. Free parking is adjacent. It is handicap accessibile.  We are open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with volunteer help on site. There is no charge to use this library. We have an all volunteer staff and new volunteers are always welcome. Not only do we "man" the library, but there are special projects to be done such as extracting county records, indexing, filing, cataloguing and publishing. Volunteers use their free time to take advantage of the many resources for personal research.

The society has general membership meetings once a month, puts on seminars, and presents an annual beginners workshop. Special interest groups may be formed for those with specific areas of research. We have many committees which function for the society and you are encouraged to serve on one of them. We also welcome suggestions to improve the Society.

As a member of CCGS, you are also a member of the Clallam County Historical Society and the Museum. You will receive both society publications and a discount on admissions and purchases from the Museum. Members may purchase genealogy forms for half price and use the copy machine at 10 cents per copy.
