Rebuttle of Feng Shui
Feng Shui Fallibilities
1. Too old for
"cult" status but not as a
"pseudo-science". Just plain superstition? Or maybe be
a widespread
generalized low level anxiety or a form of "OCD" (obsessive compulsive
disorder) passed down through generations. The
credibility of Feng Shui is shattered when truly natural forces occur.
2. It would be
far more productive to discover a region's potential for
geothermic (volcanic) and tectonic (earthquake/continental
shift/tsunami)
activity before a dwelling is even constructed.
Erroneous reasoning takes precedence,
time and again, whether it be some imagined control over energy flow or
belief that deities will protect through faith, prayer
and a myriad of other assorted rituals.
3. Massive
planetary forces don't recognize such practices,
however. One must consider how many Feng Shui "correct"
buildings were destroyed by the great earthquake in the Sichuan
Province of China in 2009? Feng Shui homes along with those
who practice
it were swept away by the giant tsunami that hit Malaysian coasts in
2012. Let's
not forget the death and devastation of Chinatown population in the
1906 San Francisco
earthquake.
4. Even
religionists look at these cataclysmic events as the sign of the "End
Times". When in reality, they have been happening all
along for billions of years. As our population as a race
continues to increase so does our experience of them. The
more
construction...the more destruction, more people...more death and
suffering when disasters strike. A perfect example is the
utter
annihilation of
Pompeii and Herculaneum when Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. The
population of those
ancient Roman towns was comparatively sparse then. Today
millions more live in the area of that same, still active, volcano.
5. We still
build on fault
lines, flood plains, coastal areas hit by
periodic dangerous storms then expect the constraints of Meta magical
thinking like Fen Shui to make everything positive, peaceful etc.
...People need to pay more attention to their immediate environment.
6. Peace,
happiness and good
living varies with each and every individual
and can end in a moment. However, the acquisition of
knowledge,
good planning, being observant and knowing your environment can produce
more
of a measure for the above goals. Feng Shui is nothing but a
phantom thought process.
One
more point about this Feng Shui I would like to make,
Any efficacy derived from the practice of Feng Shui is, conveniently,
not
testable. Any claims of benefit from Feng Shui is purely
subjective.
As James Randi would say...Flim Flam!!
