 Marshall's Review of the event
To start I would like to say that Bucharest is a beautiful city and I really enjoyed my time there. Unfortunately the airline lost my luggage and as of now I still don't have it, but most of the guys competing were cool enough to let me borrow their gear.

The contest started with a Last Man Standing Axle Press. I ended up hitting 171kg and barely missing 181kg AGAIN so I am kinda bummed about that. The big lifts came from Brian Shaw smashing 186kg (409.2lbs) and an 18 year old Romanian competitor hitting 181kg (398.2 lbs). I finished in the middle of the pack in this event.

The 2nd event was the H-Stone carry. The stone weighed 180kg (396lbs). I was pretty excited about this event even though I am not usually good at it. I picked the stone up and just carried it until I was done which apparently worked because I won this event by about 6 meters. Nick Best was second and Stojan was 3rd.

The 3rd event was the Farmers walk 160kg (352 lbs) for 20 meters (65 feet 7 inches). These implements are very similar to the old IFSA handles so they were very awkward and cumbersome. I really crapped out on this event I think I only went like 3 meters with these. Finished near the bottom for this event.

Going into the 4th event the rain had slowed down which was cool. The event was a 410kg (902lbs) Yoke for 20 meters. I got into the yoke and knocked out the course in 11 seconds, which was a good run for me but only good enough for 3rd place at the contest. Nick Best took first with an 8 second run, with Stojan taking second with a 9 second effort..

For the 5th event they cut the field to 6 athletes, I made the cut but was sitting in 5th place with 2 events to go. This event was the Crucifix hold, with the implements being 19kg (41.8lbs) swords. I felt good about this event and like it quite a bit. I took a strong 2nd place being only a couple tenths behind Janne V. which made me feel good since he is one of the best at this event.

The 6th and final event was the Atlas Stones with the 5 stone set weighing from 120-200kg (264 ? 440lbs). When this event started I was sitting in in 2nd place ? of a point, and it was mentioned that whoever won stones would win the show. This made for an extremely exciting finish. Stojan only loaded 4 stones. Brian Shaw loaded all 5 in around 37 seconds and Nick Best finished in about 35 seconds. I was so stoked but I tried to relax and do work, I ended up loading all 5 in 28 seconds!!! Johanness Arsjo went after and did it around 36 seconds, I think. Great finish to an exciting show. With me 1st place overall.

Big thanks to all the competitors for letting me borrow their stuff.
