 Marshall's Review of the event

So I decided to do this show the Tuesday prior because Pete and Matt had said the weather was beautiful and it would be a fun show to do....the were right about the show but friggin liars on the weather!

1st event- Frame carry 750 x 50 ft - Easy pick and moved very quickly with it but towards the end I played to the crowd a bit which maybe slowed me down a bit, whatever, I put up a good time - 8.5 I think. Extremely impressive were Ricky and Ryan's runs - those guys are unbelievably fast on carries! 3rd place

2nd event- Log max- Opened with 320 was looking for 360 but bombed out on 340, don't know what happened with my log other than maybe I am too light (275 lbs), haven't worked it enough? Don't know but I was disappointed...very far back in the pack on this one. I couldn't freaking believe how many people smashed 360 and 380 and Brugal attempting 425 was crazy!!!

3rd Event- Car DL for reps- Ok so my DL has come up a lot lately so I even pushed to make this heavier, I have won the last 2 car dl's I've done so I was VERY confident going into this...but I bombed the crap out of it!!! I'm not sure what happened but maybe because I've focused on my DL so much I let my squat lag (quite a bit actually) and this one was so heavy it had to be squat up? Any suggestions? Thoughts? This event really screwed me it put me so far behind I knew I had to basically win the next 2 events to even be in the running. Also my pride was hurt because Dan Harrison beat me and that's just not right! Hahahahahahaha Dan is a sick Car DL'er and I knew if anyone could pull it, it would be him.

4th event- 800lb yoke x 80 ft- The guy blowin the whistle was quick to fire (this happened to a lot of guys) so I wasn't quite set up but whatever I ended up putting up a decent time with 12.9?, 1st place

5th event- Stones 300,330,360,395,420- It was soaking wet so I was not super confident going into these but I knew that I had to win them to make up some points so I just attacked them with all I had. When I got to the 420 it was sitting in a puddle of water but it actually came into my lap, once I had it there, it was slick so I had to rotate it to a flat spot that I felt then load it, and it worked! Man was I happy! 1st place

Ended up in third place overall which I am ok with as the guys ahead of me are great athletes, but I am disappointed because I have been working so hard on my static events so this would not continue to happen to me but I guess I have more work to do, although I am getting even faster with heavier implements which is good I guess. If anyone has any suggestions on my static stuff it would be appreciated, it's a piece of the puzzle I need to work on to be a serious threat. Maybe more bodyweight as well but we'll see about that. I want to say thanks to all the guys in Wisconsin for being so hospitable and cool and also that it was a pleasure to meet Amanda Wilfer and watch her compete (she is super cool as well) and of course Spybrook is retarded strong as always, also going into the show I thought Brugal was a tool, which turned out to be true BUT he is a pretty cool tool! Hahahahahahahahaha J/K it was great to meet him and Rob M. Ryan J. and a couple other guys I think that these guys (along with Rick L., Dave O. and Kevin N, etc.) are the future of our sport and it makes me happy to see how freakishly strong these cats are! Also Brad Dunn has the widest back I've ever seen!

Pete and Matt- I GOT ROCKS IN MY SHOES!!!!
